The mission of Head Start Foster Homes is to establish, maintain and operate culturally diverse family homes that provide a stable, nurturing and yet therapeutic living environment to children affected by neglect, trauma, sexual, physical and/or emotional abuse.
Head Start Foster Homes will act as a temporary support during separation and be a conduit to reunite children, and youth with their communities and families.
Head Start Foster Homes is a specialized parent model program supporting children and youth with emotional, sexual, trauma, physical, developmental, behavioural challenges related to abuse, neglect and or transitioning to independence.
Head Start Foster Homes support relationships with children and youth in care by providing a loving nurturing environment that supports their emotional and social development or development of a positive racial identity to a connected community to bring about transformational change.
Culture and Identity will be an area emphasized with services directly customized to meet each individualized need for each child and youth.
